عنوان کتاب: A computational Approach to Physics |
This book offers a complete introduction and provides an overview of basics and fundamentals of computational methods that have been developed in physics at the undergraduate and upper division levels. It is self-contained and readily accessible to physics students, and researchers who are familiar with traditional methods of mathematics, such as ordinary, and partial differential equations and a programming language. The book’s approach and emphasis is on how to make a physical problem computable and tractable with a computer. This is realised by numerous examples and solved problems ranging from classical mechanics, thermodynamics, molecular dynamics, quantum mechanics, random processes, and more. The essential and conceptual physics of a physical topic is firstly explained on an analytical grounds and afterwards the associated numerical and computational methodologies are discussed. In contrary to most of books with the terms “computation” and “physics”, it is assumed the reader has a background knowledge on numerical techniques such as numerical differentiation, error analysis, root finding etc. The book directly teaches the reader how to implement these techniques in a physical problem. The book, is mostly suitable for advanced bachelor and master students in physics and engineering. |
